Sole & Trail is proud to work alongside some of the leading names in outdoor and performance footwear.
From our specialist workshop in Kendal, we combine traditional shoe repair skills with modern materials, technical resoling and a detailed understanding of how performance footwear is designed to function.
We are an Official Vibram Ambassador, a Certified Vibram Premium Cobbler, and an authorised repairer for selected outdoor footwear brands.
These partnerships help us develop reliable repair solutions that extend the usable life of footwear while maintaining its intended performance, profile and character.

Official Vibram Ambassador
Vibram is recognised worldwide for developing high-performance rubber soles for trail running, hiking, climbing, workwear and everyday footwear.
As an Official Vibram Ambassador, Sole & Trail works closely with Vibram to promote professional footwear repair, specialist resoling and the idea of repairing rather than replacing.
Our role allows us to showcase genuine Vibram repair materials, test and demonstrate different sole technologies, attend industry events and help customers understand which outsole is best suited to their footwear and intended use.
Vibram supports a network of specialist repairers and provides a dedicated shoe-repair locator to help customers find workshops experienced in fitting genuine Vibram products.
Certified Vibram Premium Cobbler
Being a Certified Vibram Premium Cobbler reflects our experience working with Vibram soles, rubber compounds and modern footwear constructions.
We offer a wide selection of Vibram options for:
• Trail and fell running
• Walking and hiking
• Wet and rocky terrain
• Approach footwear
• Climbing shoes
• Heritage and everyday footwear
• Lightweight performance shoes
• Full walking-boot rebuilds
Not every sole can be fitted to every shoe. We assess the footwear’s shape, width, construction and condition before recommending an option.
Where possible, we aim to maintain the intended weight, profile, flexibility and overall character of the original footwear.
NNormal Authorised Repairer
Sole & Trail is an authorised UK repairer for NNormal footwear.
NNormal has developed its repair and resoling programmes in partnership with Vibram-certified cobblers, with the aim of keeping running footwear in use for longer and reducing unnecessary replacement. Its programme includes outsole replacement and selected minor repairs.
Depending on the model and condition, NNormal repairs may include:
• Vibram outsole replacement
• Regluing
• Stitching
• Upper patching
• Minor component repairs
• Cleaning and assessment
Every pair is assessed individually. Some damage may fall outside the authorised programme or may not be economically repairable.
Dolomite 54 Authorised Repairer
We are also an authorised repairer for Dolomite 54 footwear.
Dolomite’s Repair If You Care programme encourages owners to extend the life of their footwear by using specialist Vibram repairers to replace worn outsoles with genuine high-performance rubber.
Our Dolomite services can include:
• Genuine Vibram resoling
• Outsole replacement
• Sole separation repairs
• Stitching and minor upper repairs
• Cleaning and restoration
• General assessment and repair advice
Compatibility depends on the particular model, construction and condition of the footwear.
Bareback Authorised Repairer
Sole & Trail is an authorised repairer for Bareback footwear.
We work with Bareback to provide practical repairs designed to extend the life of its footwear and reduce the need for premature replacement.
Depending on the model and damage, repairs may include:
• Sole and heel repairs
• Regluing
• Stitching
• Upper repairs
• Replacement outsole options
• Cleaning and restoration
Please contact us with photographs before ordering if your required Bareback repair is not listed on the website.
What an authorised repair partnership means
An authorised repair partnership gives customers access to a workshop familiar with the brand, its footwear construction and the intended repair process.
It may also provide us with access to:
• Brand-specific repair guidance
• Recommended materials and components
• Technical information
• Approved repair methods
• Direct communication with the footwear brand
• New repair and sustainability initiatives
Authorisation does not mean every damaged pair can be repaired. Footwear must still be assessed for structural condition, material deterioration and repair compatibility.
We will always give honest advice where a repair is unlikely to provide a safe, reliable or worthwhile result.
Repairing footwear for the future
Footwear repair is changing.
Modern trail shoes, running footwear and outdoor boots often use lightweight foams, specialist rubber compounds, bonded constructions and technical fabrics. Repairing them successfully requires an understanding of both traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing.
Our partnerships allow us to continue learning, developing new techniques and helping manufacturers design footwear with repairability in mind.
The aim is simple: keep good footwear in use for more miles.
